14 Guidance for reviews of all-through, secondary, and large primary schools
Inclusion Reviews
For many of the scheduled meetings, you can identify the most appropriate attendees. However,
to ensure that the review includes a broad, cross-section of the school community, the following
parameters should (wherever possible) be followed for the specific panels outlined below:
Panel Notes
Teachers/support staff This group should have an equal mix of teaching and support staff. It
should contain staff with a range of experience.
Other relevant leaders These groups should be made-up of middle leaders who have
responsibilities relating to the relevant pillar
Parents (engaged) This group can be left to leaders' discretion. The meeting may be held
on or off site, virtually or by phone call.
Parents (hard to reach) This group may include parents of pupils who might have low
attendance, have been suspended, or who are otherwise deemed by
leaders to be hard to reach. Leaders should provide a rationale for the
selection. The meeting may be held on or off site, virtually or by phone
call. Consideration should be given to the fact that on-site meetings
may not be the most appropriate venue for this session.
Pupils Within the pupil groups, one group should be made-up of 'hard to
reach' pupils, and one should contain pupils with responsibility. All other
groups should be made-up of a representative sample of pupils.
